Wilsons fame was surpassed by the U.S. in 2014, as she landed a part on Showtimes The Affair. In the show, Wilson was Alison Lockhart who is a young, troubled girl who comes from a rough background. Lockhart is a lover of the love of her life, Noah Solloway. Wilson was awarded an award in the form of a Golden Globe in 2015 for Best Actress, Television Series Drama. The show also featured Maura Terney as well as Joshua Jackson. I loved the opportunity to portray a character with different perspectives Wilson told British Vogue in 2015. Noah sees Alison as this confident, reckless sexy version of her. In reality, however Alison sees herself as unattractive. The actress added "I think America is a moral country and that they are too judgemental. The way they conduct themselves on the show is like a shocking scene." Wilson quit the show in 2018 to many fans' shock, but she wasn't clear on the details. I was tempted to quit and I don't have the authority to explain what the reasons are. She said in an interview on CBS This Morning conducted in August, 2018. Wilson's career in film has gotten more prominent over the last few years. She was in the film of horror I Am the Pretty Thing Who Lives In The House in 2016 and then in the sci-fi rom-com How to Talk to Girls at Parties in which she played the mysterious PT Stella. In 2018, she will be adding another horror film in her resume when she stars in The Little Stranger, a British version of The Little Stranger, a supernatural thriller based on the novel of Sarah Waters. Wilson will also serve as the executive producer of this film.
